New “chocolate party” with no sugar organized by ADIA
The target of this initiative is to inform all those with diabetes about suitable diets
In the centre, the president of ADIA, receives a cup of chocolate.
ADIA, Diabetics of Aguilas, celebrated last Sunday with a great success their “chocolate day” with no sugar. As usual, the ludic-gastronomic day took place on Las Delicias beach. For some hours, both members of the group and guests enjoyed the chocolate tasting, the top priority was to inform all those affected by diabetes about the possibilities of having a normal life, as far as diet is concerned.
To achieve this, those responsible of ADIA will provide to all those interested, information about a number of different food suitable for diabetics and they assure that the flavour is similar to those “sweet” products made with normal sugar.
Now that we are in the Christmas Season it is very important that those affected with diabetes should be informed of their existence, in this way, they will be able to enjoy those sweets avoiding the privations that they are used to before all these special treats were in the market.
Nevertheless, the festive morning did not end there and following the ludic tone that sets apart all those formative activities of ADIA, those present had the chance to take part in many games that, though organized basically for the little ones, managed to amuse the adults.
We must remember that the Diabetic Association of Aguilas, though it is a group that has not existed for long, it has consolidated in the area as the one with more activities throughout the year.
All those activities have the purpose to enhance the quality of life of all those who suffer this illness.
It is regrettable to say that diabetes is spread widely and that it affects a great number of children and teen agers.
Not so long ago, the Association joined the celebration of the Worldwide Day of Diabetes with many activities as a conference, talks on nutrition and an outdoor meal.
